But I digress...Media edition

Oh, hello. Did you knock? Sorry the bell's out of order. I'm Robt (short for Robert and found on the average piece of mail addressed to me). It's about 7:48pm where I am in Philadelphia and it's rainy. I'm posting a blog initially to fulfill a requirement for a college course, but it will
also serve as sort of a time capsule for the future documenting what I was doing.
Hopefully I will also find a way to post lottery numbers to this blog from my future self as well.
To give you a bigger picture of who I am (should you care) let me tell you what I am excited and disappointed about in film, tv  and music.
Excited...about the rerelease of Killer of Sheep (*). I first saw this film at the Donnell
Library Center in Manhattan ($), I next saw it at the Museum of the Moving Image in
Queens (%) and finally on bootleg dvd from Kim's Video (^). These were all special screenings because there were problems clearing the musical rights. Now the film has been rereleased and it is highly recommended.

Disappointed..about the delay of the Bill Cosby Show Season 2...and I haven't even
gotten to disc 2 of the first season. This is Dr. C's 1969 show where he played Coach
Chet Kincaid. It was one of the first if not the first TV comedy without a laugh track
and I find it highly enjoyable. Apparently the sales of the 1st season weren't big
(I probably would not have known about it if it hadn't been for tvshowsondvd.com.
Season 2 was to come out next month but is possibly delayed until 2008.

Excited about..Fishbone's Still Stuck in Your Throat cd. I saw this band for what was probably the 24th time on  a boat cruise 2 weeks ago. Even though only 2 original members remain they are still just as great.

Also excited about..Living Colour's Live at the World Cafe dvd. This is a show from
Philly I attended in December 2005 and also probably the 32nd time seeing them. I actually don't have the dvd yet (still waiting for the order I placed at the job)..but looking forward to getting it...

I am currently reading Blood Fever which is the 2nd young James Bond novel
written by Charles Higson, who was also on the Fast Show (Brilliant in the U.S.) and
in a pretty good band called the Higsons. The dvds I have from Netflix are Police Squad the series and from Blockbuster, Say Amen Somebody and Urban Gothic (UK tv show).

If you have a chance, check out the TV show Fifteen Storeys High available on import
dvd from amazon.co.uk

and finally the youtube video of the day..
